Literacy in Wyoming County Libraries

Literacy In Wyoming County Libraries is a two-year project funded by Adult Literacy Library Services, a New York State library Grant Program that will greatly strengthen Literacy services in our rural Western New York county. The target group for this project is adults with low literacy skills. During 2003-2005 Adult Basic Education Materials collections and software programs were purchased and placed in Warsaw Public Library, Stevens Memorial Library (Attica), Perry Public Library, and Arcade Free Library. Expanded recruiting of tutors and students for Literacy Volunteers of Wyoming County took place using radio and newspaper advertisements. Expanded training of tutors and new tutors also took place. Visit your local library and explore the Literacy In Wyoming County Libraries collection.
